Getting started with your first Karta page
If you haven’t already done so, you need to create a Kartra account and go through the necessary set up. This link will give you 14 days free access to Kartra and all the functionality it offers. This is an amazing deal and you really should try it out for yourself.
Once logged in you will need to select the My Pages menu item and then select the ‘+ Pages’ green button in the bottom right hand corner.
Today we are going to be creating a 404 error page so select 404 Pages from the left hand menu and choose an appropriate template.
Once you are happy, select Launch Builder and complete the information in the dialog box and select Create.
You will be launched into the Configuration Builder screen where you can change the layout, look and feel of your page. Areas of particular importance are action points. This is where the user will interact with the components and expect an action in return i.e. buttons.
Make sure that the button links are configured correctly:
Once you are happy select Actions and Publish Live. You have now created your first Kartra page.
Publishing your Kartra Page
You will be asked whether you would like the page link or the page code. In cases where you will be hosting the page in a WordPress blog you will need to select the page code option.
You are supplied with a snippet of code to paste directly into the WordPress post. The real power though is that any changes you make to the Kartra page will be immediately reflected on your WordPress blog. Real life magic!
Preparing your WordPress blog
You will need to install the Blank Slate plugin. On your WordPress dashboard, select Plugins and then Add New.
Search for the Blank Slate plugin and install it (ensure you remember to activate the plugin).
Now select Pages and Add New from the WordPress dashboard menu. This will take you to a new page. On the Document menu under Page Attributes change the Template to Blank Slate.
Adding your Karta page to your WordPress blog
Change from Text Editor to Code Editor. Paste in the snippet you copied from the creation of the Kartra page.
You can check the preview of the page and, if happy, publish it.
Congratulations
You have now created your first Kartra page and published it in your own WordPress blog.
Kartra and WordPress are invaluable tools in your affiliate marketing toolset. Their effectiveness is amplified further when used in tandem.
Hopefully you can now see the power of showing a Katra page in your blog and go on to build engaging experiences for your target consumer base.
